Utilizing a series of identical masks at various stages in themask-making process from roughing the blank to sanding and polishingthe finished mask, the workshop will focus on demonstrating anddiscussing the techniques used for carving, the techniques used tocreate the illusion of facial "mobility", techniques to carve thenegative space of the mask, selection of appropriate wood and the useand care of tools.
